Christos Tourkolias

Dr. Christos Tourkolias is a researcher in the fields of energy and environmental economics and policy analysis and planning. He is Chemical Engineer of National Technical University of Athens and he holds a Master in Engineering – Economic Systems with direction in Production Systems Management and a PhD in Energy and Environmental Economics. Nowadays, he is working as expert in environmental and energy economics. During his professional collaboration with research centers (Center for Renewable Energy Sources and Savings, National Observatory of Athens, Hellenic Centre for Marine Research), universities (National Technical University of Athens, University of Aegean, Agricultural University of Athens) and firms. He has participated in numerous studies and R&D programmes regarding energy and environmental externalities, environmental liability issues, the formulation and analysis of energy and environmental policies, the economic valuation of climate change impacts and assessment of adaptation and mitigation strategies, econometric analysis, uncertainty analysis, while he has experience in the implementation of non-market evaluation techniques. Moreover, he has published 17 articles in international scientific journals, he has participated in numerous international and national conferences and he has contributed to the publication of four books. Finally, he has participated in the teaching of the postgraduate course “Energy and environmental economics” for four academic years.
