IEEE BIBE 2013 organizing committee, in cooperation with the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Unit of the National Technical University of Athens, organizes a satellite event on “Inspiring and enabling entrepreneurship – Bridging the gap between the lab and the marketplace“.
The main aim of the event is to instill an entrepreneurial spirit to the participants and support innovative business ideas by covering the principles of entrepreneurship and aspects of mentoring and assisting start-ups. In the context of coaching sessions, the participants will receive:
a) A short seminar on the specific steps needed to start a new business (Identification and evaluation of market opportunities for a new – start-up, Development of a successful business plan, Funding options).
b) A panel discussion with expert presentations on specific topics and information related to knowledge-intensive entrepreneurship.
c) Individualized coaching with a team of experts headed by Johan Van den Bossche. Johan Van den Bossche, has a long standing experience as a serial entrepreneur of high-tech start-ups and he is the co-founder and manager of SO Kwadraat – a non-profit organization for supporting high-tech entrepreneurs and spin-offs, based in Leuven, Belgium.
d) Interactive discussion on intellectual property issues, related to their business idea, with Thérèse Schölvinck, an expert from the European Patent Office.
